I would like to introduce you KLAMIR by Mirella Foffano, a talented young designer!

When did decide to become a jewellery designer? KLAMIR creativity is very similar to my native city, Venice. I started from there, self-tought, producing glass jewellery. This experience was the star of my style. The idea of creating my own style of jewellery took shape and became reality. My idea is to create something symbolic of my land, Murano Glass, with new materials and to introduce a new line with strong visual effect.

Tell me about your new collection. A KLAMIR jewel is created from a design, an impression, a sensation. For every creation there is a different evolution for the shape and the colour. In the CONTEMPORARY COLLECTION the glass beads are criss-crossed with coloured PVC strings. Which enhance the structure of the object. It’s a game of light and shade, colour, light and dark: it increases the value of the accessory and creates exclusive models. The union between inspiration and fantasy takes shape in high class jewels.

How did you start your business. KLAMIR was founded in 2010, but this, without doubt for me, is the collection that reaches it’s highest expression: both for the professional maturity and artistic expression. The past experience have reached their best and decisive demonstration.

Vi vorrei presentare KLAMIR by Mirella Foffano, una talentuosissima giovane designer!

Quando hai deciso di diventare una jewellery designer? La creatività di KLAMIR e molto simile alla mia città natale, Venezia. Ho iniziato proprio da lì a produrre i miei gioielli di vetro, da autodidatta. La mia idea è sempre stata quella di creare qualcosa di simbolico che mi leghi alla mia terra, la terra del vetro artistico di Murano, introducendo nuovi materiali e una nuova linea con forti contrasti visivi.

Parlami della tua nuova collezione. Un gioiello KLAMIR è un design, un’impressione, una sensazione. Per ogni creazione c’è un’evoluzione di forma e colore differente. In the CONTEMPORARY COLLECTION il vetro è intrecciato con delle stringhe di PVC colorate, che sottolineano la struttura dell’accessorio. E’ un gioco di luce e ombre, colore chiaro e scuro: che vanno a sviluppare maggiormente il valore dell’accessorio e a creare un modello esclusivo. L’unione tra ispirazione e fantasia prende forma in un gioiello di classe.

Come hai iniziato il tuo business. KLAMIR è stata fondata nel 2010, ma questa collezione e senza dubbio la più alta espressione del marchio, sia per una maggiore maturità professinale, sia per pura espressione artistica.

Having readers from all over the world also means to have talented young designers among them and I’m so excited to have the chance to finally get to know them! Let’s fly now to Brasil to meet Agata Somazz. Agata lives in Santa Teresa, she is a young designer who started ten years ago when she was 18, selling her accessories to family and friends. Agata is a fashion designer and her collections are absolutely brilliant, colourful and unique. She uses various materials, mostly recycled or reused… ‘it all depends of my inspiration’ she says.

Her latest collection was inspired by the four elements of nature and is called ‘’Elementais’’. In April 2010 her first collection was exposed in the store Novo Desenho, at the Museum of Modern Art in Rio, very important reference for contemporary designers.

Avere lettrici da ogni parte del mondo significa anche avere nuove talentuosi designers tra loro, e mi rende particolarmente felice avere la possibilitá di collaborare con loro! Voliamo ora in Brasile per conoscere Agata Somazz. Agata vive a Santa Teresa, lei è una giovane designer ch iniziò la sua attivitá dieci anni fa, quando aveva solo 18 anni, vendendo i suoi primi accessori alla famiglia e agli amici. Agata è ora una confermata fashion designer e le sue collezioni solo assolutamente brillanti, colorate e uniche. I materiali che usa sono di vario tipo, preferibilmente reciclati…”tutto dipende dalla mia ispirazione” dice.

La sua ultima collezione è ispirata ai quattro elementi della natura e si chiama ” Elementais”. Nell’Aprile del 2010, la sua prima collezione venne esposta nel negozio Novo Desenho, al Museo di Arte Moderna di Rio, una referenza importantissima per i designers contemporanei.

Young Designer Explore the ICON Project!

I bumped into this brand and I immediately realized that I had to find out more. Enrico& Enrica are both young designers, working for big Italian brands, who decided to develop a particular philosophy. Made by EBI works around the balance of the opposites. The ICON Project is the creation of a shoes without the sense of time, beyond the ups and downs of the fashion world. I always image shoes as pieces of art. This is, without a doubt, a master piece!

Scontrandomi contro questo brand, ho subito capito che c’era da esplorare, da andare più a fondo. Enrico&Enrica sono due giovani designers, entrambi impegnati in ruoli di rilievo con brand molto importanti, che hanno abbracciato una filosofia particolare. IlMade by Ebi racconta l’equilibrio degli opposti. Da qui la creazione del PROGETTO ICON, una calzatura lontana dal tempo, dagli sbalzi d’umore della mondo della moda. Essendo una cultrice della calzatura in genere immagino la scarpe sempre come un pezzo di arte a se stante e questa, senza dubbio, è un pezzo da collezione!

The week end is about to start and I’m sure that many of you are ready for some shopping! Today I wanted to suggest you a new shop…a particular one…where you can find amazing and unique clothes, shoes and accessories that will make your friends jealous!

I’m talking about a special shop, an online shop, run by people that encourage new talents, new ideas and that, on their website story page wrote ‘Life is all about special moments’. So, today CHAPEAU! to The Young British Designers Association

Young British Designers is all about those special ‘moments in time’. It started with four people, four people of differing ages, differing backgrounds, some shared experiences…but most importantly a real thirst to pursue a vision about which all four were really passionate: original brave design, new talent, a fair way to work and the opportunity to take a risk; a life changing risk.

I really want to invite you to visit their shop and share their vision and mission. I believe in this too and my blog wants to be part of this amazing process, of these special ‘moments in time’.
